At CONSONANT, we are experts in Room Acoustic Design, Sound Isolation, and Noise + Vibration Control, primarily for performance and assembly spaces.  Our capabilities also extend to Environmental + Community Noise, AV Systems + Performance Audio, and Special Projects.    

Our acoustic design services can be retained in a variety of models, each comprising our high level of engagement, but with a structure, scope, and timeline catered to each project type and need.   

1. Full-scope Building Design Services for a new building, renovation, or adaptation project. We participate in all phases, from Programming + Planning, through Design, Bidding, Construction, Commissioning + User Introduction.  
2. Scope-limited Studies, such as the Acoustic Assessment of an existing condition or venue, a Feasibility Study, or a Conceptual Design for a project or design competition.  
3. Targeted Inquiry or research endeavor into a surface, material, idea or construct, with a collaborating designer, artist, inventor, or user. This could include analytical support to an ongoing design, or to develop, test, and refine the mock-up of an assembly, or to explore not-yet-anticipated creative aural possibilities for a new context or application.

Regardless of the model of our engagement, we work for arts organizations, institutions and building owners, with architects and allied design professionals, in the service of the artists, users and patrons who will experience, perform and learn in the spaces we help to design.
